The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE MORE YOU PRAY, THE MORE YOU WILL BECOME CONVINCED OF ITS POWER.*

Good Thursday to you! I am working hard to resist a temptation to start including the number of shopping days left until Christmas. I believe that if I speak out this temptation, I will be less likely to slip in a countdown, plus I will have all of you to hold me accountable going forward. Friends, that is exactly how God has designed the strategy for us to resist the tempting of the evil one. When we recognize that something is a temptation, we have taken the first step in being able to avoid a wrong choice. Our next step is to pray for God’s power to resist falling to the ploys of the devil – while we haven’t gotten there yet we will read in James that when we resist the devil he will flee. Finally, as an added assurance we are to surround ourselves with other believers to help hold us accountable to help us when we need extra support and encouragement. If you haven’t yet put this three-pronged defense in your life’s playbook, today would be a great day to start.

In our pick verses today, we conclude our dissection of Paul’s four verse summary of the Gospel message. Verse six is a continuation of verse five wherein God is transforming us and creating in us a new nature. In this verse Paul focuses on God pouring out on us the rich abundance of the Holy Spirit to work within us as our spiritual counselor. God sent the promised Holy Spirit as a result of the work of Jesus. Paul goes on to state that when we are justified, we are made right with God. The stain of our sin has been removed and we are brought back into a right relationship with God. Through this we become heirs of eternal life which is God’s ultimate promise to and for those who are believers. My life stands on this promise regardless of what challenges, struggles, or temptations come my way. I pray you possess this same perfect assurance.

Blessing
