Sunday – December 12th – Titus 1:9 -----
1:9 yet for love's sake I rather appeal to you--being such a one as Paul, the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ—
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE FAINTEST WHISPER OF ENCOURAGEMENT UTTERED TO A CHRISTIAN BROTHER OR SISTER IS HEARD IN HEAVEN.*
Happy Sunday to you! What a great day for us to seize the opportunity to worship the God who has created us, who has knitted us together in our mother’s womb, who has blown into us the breath of life, and who has offered us the gift of salvation through the forgiveness of our sin. Wow – that is a lot to be thankful for as we worship God. Our inspirational thought today adds to our worship the important role of being an encourager to others. I learned a long time ago that what appears on the outside of a person may not fully represent what is going on inside a person. Everyone we cross paths with today, and this week, needs positive encouragement. God may have deployed us to that person just for the reasons of kind words and a pat on the back.
In our pick verse today, Paul expands on the importance of displaying Christian love between believers. Paul knew the most effective decisions we make would result from free choice, not from compulsion or coercion. Thus, he is appealing to the core of Philemon’s debit of love and thankfulness to God. The Greek word for “aged” may mean that Paul was an old man, or it may also be translated “ambassador”, implying that he was a special representative of Jesus the Christ. By describing himself as both “aged” and a “prisoner”, Paul took the position of a respected and honored petitioner in the case he was about to plead. Who do you look to as one who is respected and honored as a follower of Jesus?
Blessings

I think your auto-correct is on overload. Is Titus 1:9 really correct?
