Friday – December 24th – Hebrews 1:6-7     -----
1:6) But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: "Let all the angels of God worship Him."
7) And of the angels He says: "Who makes His angels spirits And His ministers a flame of fire."
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
Yes, today is Friday and it is Christmas Eve around the world. Here at SunRise, we are offering lots of opportunities for you to worship the birth of our savior. Inbuilding options begin at 1pm with a traditional music service, while 3pm, 5pm, 7pm, and 11pm are contemporary music services. Communion and candles are part of all our inbuilding worship opportunities. For our online worship folks, we will premiere our Christmas Eve worship service at 9am on Facebook and through the SunRise website and SunRise app. One of things I am most excited about on Christmas Eve is our annual (well second year) calling of our 12 Days of Christmas folks and sing a couple of Christmas carols to them. Remember to “Expect the Unexpected”. Enjoy your Christmas Eve worship wherever it may be today!

Today, in our pick verses we appropriately read about how Jesus, as God in the flesh, is above all that exists. As the firstborn Son of all creation, he is full heir to the Kingdom of Heaven, and is one with the Father. Jesus’ divine nature makes him not part of creation but sovereign Lord over it. In relationship to the angels, they are not sons, only ministers of God. They were the first ones to announce Jesus’ birth to the shepherds. Their primary purpose is to serve those who inherit the salvation that Jesus has provided by entering into His inheritance. Great as angels are in the realm of Heaven, in comparison to the eternal Son they are as transitory as a flickering flame. Even though we are not angels we can be like angels and today announce to others the birth of the savior!
