Sunday – November 26th – Hebrews 1:10-12     -----

1:10) And: "You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
11) They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment;
12) Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will not fail."

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
     PRAYER IS LISTENING FOR WHAT GOD MIGHT WANT TO SAY TO YOU.*

    Good Sunday to you!! My prayer is that you had a wonderful and joy filled Christmas Day yesterday. Maybe some of you still have family celebrations ahead of you while others of you may be contemplating taking down outside decorations. Wherever you are in the Christmas holiday process, remember today is Sunday and we are worshiping God today at SunRise. This weekend marks a transition in our online worship service schedule. Today we will begin live-streaming the 9:45am service directly from our O’Fallon campus worship space. This live-stream service invites you join those who are worshiping in-building as we come back together (albeit in multiple locations) as a church family. Going forward the 5pm Saturday online service will be a rebroadcast of the previous Sunday worship service. The great thing is that over the last 22 months we have enhanced our video production knowledge and skills, so we can provide excellent high-quality live online worship services. Excited for what these new steps will bring us in 2022.

    In our pick verses today, we continue to connect the Old Testament prophecy to the reality of the New Testament Messiah. Today’s three verses come from Psalm 102 and speak of the Son being part of the trinity as He receives joint credit for the action of creation. The Son is the eternal, unchanging Creator, not merely part of the ever-changing and transitory creation. As we near the end of yet another chaotic and challenging year it is comforting to be reminded that God is forever unchanging in nature, purpose, promise, and plan. Sadly, we humans are tempted by the evil one to change God to fit into our image and conform to our ideas. And when we do follow through on this temptation, we continually recreate a god who is then both powerless and pointless. Today we celebrate the birth of our Savior – the perfect example of God’s love for us humans.

Blessings
    Pastor Jim
