Monday – December 27th – Hebrews 1:13-14     -----

1:13) But to which of the angels has He ever said: "Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool"?
14) Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
SEEK NEITHER MORE NOR LESS THAN GOD’S WILL FOR YOU.*

Welcome to the last Monday of 2021. With less than a handful of days remaining in this year, my thoughts are now beginning to focus on 2022. Yes, it is that time of year when folks traditionally make resolutions for a better “something” over the next 365 days. Areas of health, wealth, and spiritual growth typically work their way to the top of most people’s lists. I know my personal list includes Beth and I making another year-long read through the Bible.  The Daily Walk Bible is a great tool for reading, reviewing, and reflection on each verse of the Bible. I think a great resolution for all of us from the spiritual area is that we desire to be all we can be for the Kingdom of Heaven. Maybe we tag it “becoming a new you in 22”.

We conclude the first chapter of the book of Hebrews by the author circling back to the opening directive that Jesus is greater than any of the angels. These two verses are found in the opening words of Psalm 110. In this scenario we are to picture God sitting on the throne in Heaven with Jesus sitting on the right-hand side of God. This place is reserved for one who has ultimate authority and complete power – equal to the one sitting on the throne. The contrast of Jesus and the angels is to remove any doubt of who Jesus is and the place of honor in which He sits in the heavenly realm. Angels are spiritual beings created by God and under His authority with the purpose of being God’s messengers to humanity. By contrast, Jesus is God in the flesh and moves way past being a messenger to the people to become the sacrifice required for the forgiveness of our sins.

Blessings
