Happy Tuesday to you! Hope your week is off to a great start and you are being blessed through the opportunities God is placing before you for service and witness. Our inspirational thought is a great one to ponder on today. What awesome idea do you have circling around in your mind today? Is it out of the box? Does it contain the components to introduce people to Jesus or help those already following Him grow in their faith? What first steps do you need to take to bring your idea to life? Yes, my friends as we start 2022 our focus for everyone of us is on growing the Kingdom of God wherever we may be with whomever we encounter. I am convinced this year will be a year that brings glory to God through our work at SunRise. I am glad you are part of God’s team!
Our pick verses today conclude this section on Jesus’ incarnation and the suffering he experienced on our behalf. Once again, the author ties in verses form the Old Testament to make the connection that Jesus was part of God’s plan for humanity since before the creation story recorded in Genesis 1. With an intended audience of Jewish people, as indicated by the book’s title, the author is tying together the accepted and respected words of their ancestors with the reality of Jesus fulfilling these prophecies. The words of the Old Testament spoken generations before Jesus’ birth become the words used to identify Him. He completes this age-old connected to God’s people by calling them “brethren” and “children”. Jesus, as an example to us, places his complete trust in God just as we are encouraged to do. What a great day for us to increase our trust in God so that we can be a living witness to God’s power and glory.
