Friday – January 7th – Hebrews 3:1 -----
3:1) Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE BEST WAY TO FACE LIFE’S CHANGES IS TO FACE THE UNCHANGING GOD.*
Happy Friday to you’ll. Yes, we have made it through the first full week of 2022. I am sure for many of you Christmas decorations are down and put back into storage for the next nine months. And I am sure your focus is now on the making the best of the year ahead of you. My slogan for this year is “making the best you in 2022”. At SunRise there will be a strategic emphasis on personal discipleship growth and disciple-making. We will concentrate on our individual journey as well as collectively as a church body empowered by the Holy Spirit to populate the Kingdom of Heaven. How might you join us in growing as a fully committed and faith-filled follower of Jesus?
In our pick verse today, we launch a new chapter in the book of Hebrews and an new topic by the author of this book. Over the next six verse our focus will be on the faithfulness of Jesus in relationship to His calling. The author now begins to show how Jesus’ work in salvation fulfills and supersedes the order of salvation initially established by Moses. This verse is the first time the author directly addresses his fellows Christians with the greeting “holy brethren”. Our heavenly calling is directly from God with the intent to call us into Heaven through the Gospel message. As the “ultimate” apostle, Jesus reveals God to us through His words, actions, and interactions with the people of His day. Jesus is our perfect mediator with God, having experienced in the flesh the temptations we face every day.
Blessings
