Wednesday – January 12th – Hebrews 3:12-15 -----
3:12) Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;
13) but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
ALL BLESSINGS CARRY RESPONSIBILITY, SO DON’T PRAY FOR THE FIRST IF YOU’RE NOT READY FOR THE SECOND.*
Mid-week Wednesday check-in is here! How would you rate, on scale of 1-10, your week so far? Now, before you assign a number to what you would assess as “your” week, please consider the opportunities God has given you to be the example of love, peace, faithfulness, and grace to others. Do the elements of those new criteria change your original number? Our inspirational thought tackles this question head-on. We are typically quick to rally around the good things in our life and use them to assess the success of our day/week/month/year/life. However, if we truly are to convert our blessings into blessing others than the responsibility that goes with being blessed has a greater impact on our lives and in the Kingdom of Heaven. We should never shy away from blessings just to avoid the accompanying responsibilities, instead we should seek God’s blessings and pray for the responsibility and opportunity to bless others. Great responsibilities come with being a fully committed follower of Jesus. Together we can change the world and as such populate the Kingdom of Heaven.
In our pick verses today the author of Hebrews provides a strict warning for each believer that they are to guard their beliefs with intentional focus. Believers are instructed to do a daily inventory of their heats to insure they are still living under the word and will of God. Our hearts can turn away from the living God when we stubbornly refuse to believe Him. If we persist in our unbelief, our even our misguided beliefs, God will eventually leave us to our sinful ways. To prevent from having an unbelieving heart, we need to stay in fellowship with other believers, to engage in daily conversations of accountability, and to encourage each other with love and concern. Who might you reach out to today that may need a listening ear or a word of care and concern?
Blessings
