5:7) who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear,
8) though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered.

THE MIRACULOUS IS ABSOLUTELY BASIC TO CHRISTIANITY.*
Happy Sunday! Yes, today is the day we have full opportunity to worship God with all of our hearts and our souls. And yes, scripture reminds us in a variety of places that worshiping God is not limited to, or only available, on Sundays. We are to be constantly worship the God who created us and who has given us life. Even more so, we are to worship God without ceasing because of the undeserved and grace-filled gift of salvation we receive from God. I worship God because God did all the heavy lifting, and as a result my role is simply saying yes to God’s invitation to grace, peace, love, and forgiveness. With all of this in mind - how is not a top priority to worship God today and every day?
In our pick verses today we continue, in mid-sentence, our authors teaching on Jesus being the perfect high priest for all people. In the perfect plan of God, Jesus did not offer sacrifice for Himself. Rather, He offered up for us the prayers, supplications, cries, and tears of an obedient life and death. He was heard by God, and His sacrifices accepted because of His godly obedience. He was saved from, and triumphed over, death through His resurrection. Jesus did not need to learn to be obedient, rather He put obedience into practice throughout His earthly life, His suffering, and His death. Jesus is the example we should always lean upon for how we endure challenges and struggles in our lives. Yet, another reason we worship the one who has the power to save us from our sin and lead us to victory over death.
