Saturday – January 29th – Hebrews 6:9-10     -----

6:9) But, beloved, we are confident of better things concerning you, yes, things that accompany salvation, though we speak in this manner.
10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GOD DESERVES TO BE SERVED WITH ALL THE ENERGY OF WHICH WE ARE CAPABLE.*

Good Saturday to you my fellow scripture reading - blog reading friends. If you haven’t glanced at a calendar yet, today marks the fifth Saturday of 2022. How are you goals and commitments and/or resolutions going so far? Our inspirational thought today provides a healthy reminder of where and to who our energy is best directed. We are to utilize the opportunities God gives to us to be a representative of the Kingdom of Heaven. We are to approach each day, through each step of our normal routines, to be an example of Jesus to others. A fully committed follower of Jesus serves God wherever and whenever. Paul told Timothy to be prepared to preach the Gospel in season and out of season. And I like to add – use words only when necessary. How might you this weekend be an example of God’s love, grace, and forgiveness to someone who might need a word of encouragement?

Today in our pick verses from Hebrews chapter six we begin a four-verse section on imitating those who inherit the promise of God. The Christians that our author points to as examples of pure and genuine faith have shown concrete acts of Christian love to others, both inside the faith and outside the faith. Their ongoing spirit of love fully demonstrates that they still possess the spirit of Jesus’ teachings within them. The author points out that when a follower of Jesus remains focused on the teachings of Jesus, they will continue to grow stronger and deeper in their understanding of God’s truth. The encouragement from the author of Hebrews is for believers to find someone whose faith is growing and learn from them is still wise advice for all believers today. In the previous paragraph I asked who you might be encouraging this weekend, this paragraph challenges us to seek someone who will encourage us in our faith.

Blessings
  Pastor Jim
