Sunday – January 30th – Hebrews 6:11-12     -----

6:11) And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end,
12) that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
NEVER LOOK BACK UNLESS YOU WANT TO GO THAT WAY.*

Happy Sunday to you! My friends, God has provided us another great day to intentionally spend time worshiping and praising the one who has given us life and life eternal. Today marks our second installment of our current series “In This Together”. Our focus will be on the second chapter of the book of Acts where the early church came together to forever impact the world around them. In-building worship is at 8am and 9:45am. You can also join us for our 9:45am livestream of the in-building worship service or select your own on-demand time after 10:45am. We also encourage everyone to download the SunRise Church app for your phone or smart TV (currently 948 downloads) and to subscribe to our SunRise Church YouTube channel (currently 320 subscribers) to have immediate access to all of our awesome video content added throughout the week.

In our pick verses today, our author concludes this short section that challenges believers to imitate those who will inherit the promise of eternal life. The devil’s only job description is to distract, disrupt, or even destroy the relationship connection between a believer and God. Christians are always being tempted by the devil to doubt what God says, or does, or promises. When a Christian allows first consideration of these temptations, they place themselves in danger of doubting God and losing the hope they have placed in Jesus. Faith is best defined as our willful obedience because we are sure and certain that God will do exactly what God has promised in the scriptures. Patience is our desire to continue believing in the assurance of our faith, even under challenging or difficult circumstances. On this day that we gather together to worship God may we be intentional on resisting the temptations of the devil, and instead keep our eyes focused on the truth that comes from God.

Blessings
