Tuesday – February 1st – Hebrews 6:16-18     -----

6:16) Now when people take an oath, they call on someone greater than themselves to hold them to it. And without any question that oath is binding.
17) God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind.
18) So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
A DROP OF PRAISE IS UNSUITABLE ACKNOWLEDGMENT FOR AN OCEAN OF MERCY.*

Hello Tuesday and hello to all the blessing that flow from God today. I realized yesterday the incredible connection happening as we are reading through the early parts of the wilderness wanderings from Exodus and Leviticus in our daily Bible reading while studying a letter written to the Hebrew people 1500 years later who would have intimate knowledge of their nation’s religious history.  What is even more remarkable is the inspirational thought coming from the opening chapters of Leviticus overlays the points the author of Hebrews is making about God’s covenant blessings and promises. Even today our best praise will fall far short of what God has done and is doing for each of us. Hopefully this realization will inspire an even great response of praise from our hearts through our lips to the throne of God. To quote the 1971 Alka-Seltzer commercial – Try it you’ll like it…

Our pick verses today help us focus on the certain and sure reality that God’s promises are truthful and will always bring hope. God’s promises across every moment of time are unchanging and trustworthy. When promising Abraham a son, God took an oath in His own name. The oath was considered as good as God’s name itself. And God’s name was as good as His divine nature. When we live with a full faith in the true nature of God, we accept without hesitation that God cannot lie, and if God cannot lie than each and every one of His promises are perfect and will come to fruition. As followers of Jesus, we stake our eternal presence in Heaven upon the promises of God. No other choice of the gods the world offers can compare to the perfect nature of God who loves His creation unconditionally and who invites them to live eternally in His presence.

Blessings
