Sunday – February 27th – Hebrews 9:15     ------

9:15) And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
PERFECT CONFORMITY TO THE WILL OF GOD AS THE SOLE SOVEREIGN IS PERFECT LIBERTY.*

Another beautiful Sunday has arrived for us to live into and under God’s abundant blessings. This weekend at SunRise we conclude our series “In This Together” by leaning into my favorite scripture verse – Ephesians 6:12. The focus of this teaching is on the reality of spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6:10-18 encourages us to put on the full armor of God. The armor God provides a way for all believers to possess the power to protect themselves from the ruthless and relentless tactics of the devil whose goal is to destroy our relationship with God and damage our relationships with others. Join us in-building at 8am or 9:45am, or online livestream at 9:45am. On-demand worship is available immediately following the livestream service. By our saying yes to Jesus, we are, by default, engaged in a spiritual warfare battle with the devil. The full armor of God provides our defense, protection, and our ultimate victory in this battle.

In our pick verse today the author of Hebrews zeros in on God’s plan for all who believe in Jesus. By His death, Jesus became the perfect mediator of a new covenant between God and people through which we have the opportunity to re-establish our relationship with our creator. Jesus’ death provides a redemption from the transgressions which had separated us from God. This redemption is effective retroactively for those who were faithful under the old covenant. It is also God’s plan for those who become faithful followers of Jesus during their life. This eternal inheritance was promised to Abraham through God’s covenant with him. It was then lost by a stubborn and rebellious Israel, first under Moses in the wilderness, then as they settled the promise land, and finally during the period of the divided kingdoms. Jesus’ restored God’s promise and made it available to all who believe and are faithful.

Blessings
