Thursday – March 10, Hebrews 10:11     -----

10:10)  By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:

Good Thursday to you! I want to jump in immediately today and call for a personal reflection time around our inspirational thought. I will be the first to admit that I have made, and still do make plenty of mistakes, so there is no argument from me on that part of our inspirational thought. The speed bump comes when I factor in the learning part of this equation. If I had truly learned from all my past mistakes, I would by now, be highlighted in the Guinness Book of World Records as the most uber mature person in the world. The fact is however I usually either repeat the same mistake multiple times or simple choose to avoid the ingredients for that mistake without any corresponding maturity growth. I remember an old wise person saying – anyone can learn from their own mistakes; the truly wise person will learn from the mistakes of others. Either way I have a long way to go to achieve full maturity.
The pick verse today from the book of Hebrews is another of the cornerstones of the Christian faith. The author carries over the concept of God’s will from verse nine to restate the truth that Jesus fulfilled the will of God by offering Himself. As a result, we believers can be sanctified through the blood of Jesus. English theologian Richard Steele states that; “while the Atonement sanctified no one, it renders possible the entire sanctification of believers who will trust in Christ for this blessing purchased by Jesus’ blood”. Jesus’ perfect obedience marks the potential for our obedience as possible. Once and for all time Jesus has set the pattern of obedience for His followers. We need to draw our strength for a life of obedience from the gift of the Holy Spirit as we navigate our daily lives.
