The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THOSE WHO BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE AREN’T SO BAD MUST NEVER HAVE BEEN PARENTS.*

Welcome to Saturday and the weekend! Hope your weekend schedule has room for some relaxing and refreshing time for yourself and with your loved ones. I am excited that tomorrow is the second Sunday of our Lent series – “Back To Egypt”. In this series, we are exploring some of the multiple times the Hebrews found themselves in a tough spot and then begged Moses to let them go back to Egypt and the good ole days. Each instance records a classic case of their expectations not aligning with God’s intentions. Back to Egypt moments still happen in our lives today - oh we don’t call out that we want to go back to Egypt in so many words. Yet, when we find ourselves in a situation where the known fears of the past seem a better choice than the unknown adventure ahead of us, we seek to retreat to what was, while rejecting what could be. Join us this weekend when their grumbling about dry throats and empty stomachs become  a direct challenge to Moses’ leadership.

In our pick verse today, we focus on the author’s teaching on how the sacrifice of Jesus can also work to bring us deeper into a life of righteousness and holiness. Far greater than granting our forgiveness, God’s ultimate and perfect desire is for believers to live in God’s presence for all humanity. Jesus’ sacrifice includes the provision for Christian holiness or perfection. Through His atonement we may be completely delivered from the sting of sin and the power of temptations. While this is a life-long process of spiritual growth, we must believe that through a complete surrender to God’s power and love we can be made holy and righteous in our lifetime. For certain, since sin is not allowed in God’s presence, our perfection will be completed when we arrive in Heaven. With that in mind, now would be a great time to get a start on growing in holiness and godliness as a representative of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, and as a future resident of Heaven.

Blessings
