Sunday – March 20th – Hebrews 10:30-31     -----

10:30) For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The Lord will judge His people."
31) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
Happy and blessed Sunday to you! Today we officially leave behind winter and move into the first day of spring. Flowers will soon be blooming with vibrant colors, while my yard is taunting me that it won’t be long before I will be walking across it with a mower. The garden spot will soon get a once or twice over with the tiller followed by starts of peppers and tomatoes dropping roots into the warming dirt. Snow shoveling equipment will be replaced with hoses and watering cans. And most importantly spring training camps are picking up steam and in a few short weeks the sound of “play ball” will be echoing under the shadow of the arch. In spite of the pollen and other associated allergens, spring is one of my favorite times of the year. What is your favorite season, and why?
In our pick verses today the author of Hebrews continues to lay out a defense of why we are not to abandon or drift away from our faith in Jesus. He begins today by quoting two Old Testament passages from Deuteronomy which would have been very familiar to any first century Jew. These verses serve as a foundational understanding of the nature of God which has not changed over the generations. God is still a God of divinely dispensed justice. Faith in the Son brings salvation to all who believe, but rejection of Jesus brings about God’s eternal judgement. If that isn’t enough proof, the author adds the truth that God remains a God who intervenes in the affairs of people to provide mercy to the believer or judgement to the non-believer. Such clearly stated realities should be sufficient to tip the scale of decision in God’s favor.
