Sunday – March 26th – Hebrews 11:4-6     -----

11:4)    By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks.
5) By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, "and was not found, because God had taken him"; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
ONE TEST OF A PERSON’S STRENGTH IS THAT PERSON’S KNOWLEDGE OF HIS OR HER WEAKNESS.*

Welcome to Sunday! What a great day to spend time worshiping God and giving God thanks for the multitude of blessings He has poured out on us. This is week four of the season of Lent – which means we are just three weekends away from Easter Sunday celebrations. Which if you like to think ahead, SunRise will be adding an additional in-building service only on Easter – 11am. This week our “Back To Egypt” story centers on the Hebrews complete lack of trust that God would/could secure them a victory over the inhabitants of the Promised Land. There doubt directly prevented them from receiving an unbelievably rich and abundant blessing from God. Join us today as we discover the importance of trusting God even in the scariest moments of our lives.

In our pick verses today our author transitions into describing, through the actions of biblical heroes, the characteristics of a faith that pleases God. Throughout the Old Testament, God continually showed that He was very pleased with the faith of those who listened and responded. Abel’s sacrifice was pleasing and accepted by God as good. Enoch’s lifelong faith filled actions resulted in him being taken up into Heaven, thus avoiding the sting of death. Only by maintaining faith and trusting God in and through our own life challenges can we every please God. The reward of hearing the words “well done good and faithful servant” is bestowed upon those who diligently seek and ultimately connect with God.

Blessings
