Monday – April 4th – Hebrews 11:23     -----

11:23) By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king's command.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
OTHERS WILL FOLLOW YOUR FOOTSTEPS MORE EASILY THAN THEY WILL FOLLOW YOUR ADVICE.*

Good Monday to you!! Our inspirational thought for today is a great way to start off a new week of witnessing to and blessing others. Probably every one of us can testify to the accuracy of today’s thought. We all have history on both sides of this life advice equation. I know that I more willingly follow those who know the importance of leading by example. And I have discovered how very few people respond with positive actions if they are merely being told what to do. One of the worst parental lines I have ever used is telling one of my children to “do as I say, not as I do”. Such advice on my part rarely turned out well for either party involved. In case you are wondering today’s thought comes from the Old Testament when Solomon’s newly crowned son rejects the wise counsel of his elders and decided instead to treat the subjects of the kingdom with contempt and hard labor. Spoiler alert – It didn’t turn out well for him.

In our pick verse today, we reminded of the profound faith of the parents of Moses, whose names are barely mentioned in the scriptures. Their story is a great lesson in that we do not need to be high-profile well-known people to fulfil an important task for the Kingdom of Heaven. The faith of this couple embraced God’s power to overcome the threats of the Pharaoh. The rule in the land was that all Hebrew baby boys were to be put to death when they were born. Pharaoh feared (opposite of faith) that the Hebrew slaves would turn against the Egyptians when their numbers grew large enough to start a revolution. We can learn from Moses’ parents that a life of faith may bring suffering, but God gives us strength to face even the toughest situations. Because of the faith and courage of Moses’ parents their son was spared so he could rise to an even greater calling. Whom might God send your way this week that needs your faith and courage to help launch them on a great mission for God?

Blessings
