Tuesday – April 5th – Hebrews 11:24-26     -----

11:24) By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter,
25) choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,
26) esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
TO HATCH DESPAIR, JUST BROOD OVER YOUR TROUBLES.*

Happy Tuesday! Our inspirational thought for today is actually very profound and to the point as it speaks directly to attitude and focus. I know from personal experience that the more I allow life’s challenges to consume my thoughts, energy, and time the more I find myself lost in the vastness of potential outcomes. When both my time and my mind become overly invested in playing out possibilities, I have opened the door for worry to creep into my attitude. I don’t know about you but worry robs me of my joy, happiness, and even turns down the corners of my smile. I become a different person when my focus and attention is on worrying over things that I really have no control over at all. When I find myself in this state of being and then realize that this is one of the devil’s greatest weapons used against me, I immediately pray for a God directed attitude adjustment. Life is filled with enough troubles without adding to them with self-inflicted worry.

In our pick verses today the author of Hebrews centers his hero list focus on the faith of Moses. When Moses eventually acknowledged that he was relationally connected to the Hebrew slaves, he identified himself as being part of God’s chosen people. Moses displayed great faith in stepping away from the privileged lifestyle afforded him as an adopted child of Pharaoh’s daughter. His faith was leading him into a life of suffering and affliction. Moses would be the example that the suffering we experience in our earthly life should be more desirable than a life full of pleasure that comes from the fermenting of sinful activity. Those who make a decision to follow and trust God will experience the riches of the heavenly reward that comes from an obedient life. Our lifetime is filled with options that can either lead us closer to Christ or draw us away from the blessings of our eternally peace. How will you choose the next time a life challenge appears?

Blessing
