Sunday – May 8th – Hebrews 13:11-12     -----

13:11) For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp.
12) Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
INJUSTICE ANYWHERE IS A THREAT TO JUSTICE EVERYWHERE.*

Hello Sunday! Welcome to another great and awesome day the Lord has made and has invited each of us to enjoy! And yes, it is also Mother’s Day – so to all the mothers and other women who take an active roll in nurturing others I say, “Thank You”. Our inspirational today takes us to the very heart of God’s unconditional love that is expressed to all humanity. When we are a follower of Jesus, we are to be an instrument of God’s love and peace not only through our spoken/written words but also through our actions. We are to have our eyes and hearts open to injustices that we encounter, and then put our hands and feet into action to change those things that are wrong. In addition, we must use Holy Spirit inspired discernment to seek out the root cause of injustices if we truly desire to transform society for the Kingdom of Heaven. Ask God to let you see those things that break His heart and then seek God’s direction to do something positive.

In our pick verses today, we take another step forward in our learning to live a live in Christ. The author is circling back to remind his readers that the sacrifice of Jesus was exceedingly superior to the sacrifices made at either the tabernacle or the temple. Just as the bodies of the animals sacrificed on the Day of Atonement were burned outside the camp (Lev. 16:27), Jesus also died outside the gate of Jerusalem in order to sanctify the people by purifying them from sin. Taking the sacrificed animals outside and away from the camp symbolized that the previous years collection of sin was fully removed from the Israelites. For Jesus to be crucified outside of the shadow of the Temple in Jerusalem was God’s way of stating that all sin has been removed and people now had the opportunity to now live under grace. We are invited into salvation and eternity through the blood of Jesus.

Blessings
