The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today?
PRAYER BECOMES A FLAT AND ARDUOUS BUSINESS WHEN WE REFUSE TO FOLLOW THE LIGHTS AND LEADS GOD HAS GIVEN US.*

Good Tuesday to you! In the shadow of the SunRise steeple summer has arrived this week in full force. Any outside fun for the next few days will be tempered by the ninety-degree days in the forecast. Last week we dealt with wet and soggy while this week it is hot and dusty. Such is the unpredictability of May in Missouri. Our inspirational thought today speaks to just the opposite of randomness and instead challenges our propensity to live in a rut. When life, or prayer, or devotions simply become part of our routine, we have taken the first step in losing the passion and/or excitement that fuels awesome adventure or great accomplishments. Keeping our eyes on Jesus and letting the word of God soak into our hearts and minds is critical to staying motivated and energized for kingdom work. Spend a few minutes in pray by letting God do the speaking and you do the listening.

In our pick verses today, our author introduces to these new 1st century believers the importance of embracing new practices of faith as part of a call to Christian living and a Christian lifestyle. When these early Jewish converts to Christianity became followers of Jesus they no longer were accepted to worship alongside traditional Jewish worshippers. Instead, they need to now consider praise and acts of service as their new forms of personal sacrifice – ones they could offer themselves anywhere and at any time. Their praise (and ours) should always include giving thanks for the sacrifice of Jesus so that we might be offered the forgiveness of sin and an inheritance in the Kingdom of Heaven. Acts of kindness and sharing are particularly pleasing to God, even if they go unnoticed by others. In what ways can you honor God this week through your own acts of praise and service?

Blessings
