Thursday – May 19th - Reflection
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WHEN IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT GOD CARES, THAT’S EXACTLY WHEN WE MUST TRUST THAT HE DOES.*
Happy Thursday to you! Today is another great day God has given to us a gift for us to enjoy and to embrace each and every opportunity to be a representative of the Kingdom of Heaven. Our inspirational thought for today is perfect as we begin this second half of the work week. I am sure everyone of us could list out times when we have felt lost, or lonely and wondering if God really cares about us. I am reminded of the old hymn that asks the question “Does Jesus Care”. The words of the first verse and chorus go like this:
Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth and song?
When the burdens press
And the cares distress
And the way grows weary and long?
Oh, yes, He cares, I know He cares
His heart is touched with my grief
When the days are weary
The long night dreary
I know my Savior cares
When life seems a challenge, and the devil is full on attacking, and you feel like you have entire frontline of the battle all to yourself – remember that Jesus truly cares and is right there alongside you every step of the way. David in Psalm 23 echoes this understanding of God’s ever presence by stating that “even thou I walk through the valley of the shadow of the valley of death (or whatever your situation), you God are with me!”
As mentioned last week, the Daily Scripture Blog is taking a short break starting tomorrow Friday May 20th and will resume Saturday May 28th. Two time zones and temperamental internet service, plus some personal time away all add up to this short hiatus.
