Wednesday – June 1st – James 1:4     ------

1:4) But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE SINGING OF A HYMN SHOULD BE A CONVERSATION BETWEEN FRIENDS.*

Welcome to Wednesday and the first day of June. A new page on the calendar always brings to me the excitement of new opportunities and new possibilities to find ways to be in service to others. SunRise has a busy Saturday full of opportunities to be in community with others. Cars and Coffee gathers in the McClure parking lot from 8am – 10am. If you have a show-car, classic car, or just like to browse and reminisce, come and join in the fun. Then at 10am we will host a new member class for those interested in being part of SunRise Church. You can sign up at sunrisefamily.org/membership. This will be the last new member class offered before the fall season begins.

In our pick verse today, James now moves into explaining the importance of Christian patience. This three-verse algebraic like equation began with the instruction to accept suffering with joy. Yesterday he added that in times of testing our faith produces patience. And now in today’s verse he lifts up the understanding that patience lays the foundation for a peace-filled Christian life. When we allow the Holy Spirit to become our “counselor” for life, then patience can be fully developed in all aspects of our Christian character. Take a moment to reflect back over the last few days, the last few weeks, the last few months, and consider if Holy Spirit inspired patience would have made a difference in the conversations who had or the times of challenges you experienced. If you are looking for a great memory passages – these three verses (2-4) would serve all of us very well in every aspect of our lives.

Blessings
