Friday – June 3rd – James 1:6     -----

1:6) But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
IF GOD GIVES HIMSELF TO US IN PROMISES, WE MUST GIVE OURSELVES TO HIM IN DUTIES.*

Hello to Friday! Yes, the dawn of another weekend is at our doorstep. Hope your plans have room for fun and for a little rest and relaxation. Our inspiration thought as we finish out this week focuses us on the importance of the roles within our relationship with God. We have been blessed by having in hand the concrete promises of eternal life, forever in the presence of God, when we leave this world. God has also promised us peace, protection, forgiveness, and unconditional love in the meantime as we wait for our departure date. In any great relationship there is unselfish giving by both parties. Our return of “thanks” for all we are blessed with is sharing God and serving God as we help others around us. Who has benefited from you giving yourself in response to God’s blessings your life this week?

In our pick verse today from the first chapter of the book of James we are reminded of how faith has little room for doubt. This verse establishes the comparison of a person’s lack of trust in God to that of the unpredictability and the instability of a wave pushed and shoved about by the blowing wind. The physical danger of being tossed about in a boat on the sea is no different that the spiritual danger of a person who finds it difficult to make a decision to place their trust in God’s promises. Both can lead to complete ruin and loss of life. Waiting to decide for Jesus is the most dangerous of all gambles in life. Scripture is clear that there are no “do-overs”, or second chances once we have completed our time in our physical bodies. Sharing the Gospel with others can make the difference between a forever life in the presence of God or an eternity in the depths of hell. The choice is left up to each individual person – but as believers we have the opportunity to share Jesus’ side of the option.

Blessings
