2:18)    But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
DAVID, THE MAN AFTER GOD’S OWN HEART, DIDN’T DO HIS DEVOTIONS; HE LIVED THEM.*
Good Wednesday to you my blog reading friends!  Hope you mid-week check up is favorable and you have been a blessing to others this week. Our inspirational thought comes from our readings in the middle of the book of Psalms. David, who is credited with writing a majority of the psalms, understands that our faith journey is more than writing down our thoughts or reading inspiring devotions. When we take what we read in the Bible and put that into action besides helping others, we are also growing and cultivating the foundation of our faith. As this week begins its second half of opportunities may we live out our faith for all to see.

Our pick verse for today takes us one step closer to the heart of the important balance of faith and works being a hand-in-glove lifestyle. At first glance, this verse seems to contradict Paul’s teachings in Romans 3:28 where he states, “we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law’. A deeper study shows that James and Paul are not at odds in their faith theology. While it is correct that our good works can never earn us our salvation, a true faith always results in a changed life and in good deeds. Paul speaks against those who try to be saved by works instead of true faith. James speaks against those who confuse mere intellectual awareness of faith things with a true and lived faith in Jesus. James is seeking the same response from us as our inspirational thought for today stated about David.

Blessing
