3:15)   This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE MORE YOU THINK ABOUT CHRIST, THE MORE YOU THINK OF HIM.*

Hello Saturday! The weekend is here, and the opportunity to pick and choose our activities is in our hands. One thing I hope you add to your “to do” list for this weekend is taking an active part in worshiping God. At SunRise this is week number four of our series – “Thank You For Being A Friend”. The focus this weekend takes us to what may be a difficult and challenging friendship circle – being a friend to family. We may be able to pick our weekend activities, or pick our possessions, we can even pick our friends, but picking our family is outside our control. Yet, the family of our origin typically has the greatest impact on who we become as adults. Some of us have been blessed with amazing families strengthened through countless generations of ancestors. Admittedly, some of us have less than stellar family histories and have come to understand the terms dysfunctional and difficult as being normal. The Bible has a lot to say about how we can be friends to our family, regardless of the family system we were part of or are part of now. Join us on Sunday, either inbuilding or online to become a better friend of family.

In our pick verse today, James uncovers three characteristics of false and ungodly wisdom. First, such wisdom is earthly in origin, in that it is limited to the present material world of time and space. By definition, it is restricted to things that we humans can theorize, discover, or accomplish for ourselves. It has no place for God, the things of God, or spiritual truth. Second, false wisdom is natural, sensual, fleshly. It relates only to the fallen, unredeemed nature of humanity, who are wholly corrupted by the Fall and separated from God through our sinful nature. This type of false wisdom rejects the spirit of God as guide, counselor, and protector. Third, false wisdom is demonic. Although it is human, earthly, and fleshly, its root source is Satan himself, working through his demonic fallen angels, who rebelled against God in ages past. Satan has always promised his version of wisdom to those he tempts, asserting that God’s word should be doubted and his accepted. False wisdom was the source of the first temptation and remains, even today, as a top-shelf temptation utilized by the devil. Hang on friends James will soon get to the remedy of our spiritual warfare battle with the devil.

Blessings
