3:18)   Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
SIN IS THE WOMB OF OUR SORROWS AND THE GRAVE OF OUR COMFORTS.*

Good Tuesday to you! Our inspirational thought today has a strong ring of profound truth and wisdom. When we allow the tempting of the evil one to take root in our hearts and minds, we have provided the “womb” for Satan’s ongoing rebellion against God. What at first may seem innocent and harmless in our minds will eventually grow into complete devastation and utter destruction. The apostle Paul was correct when he warned the believers in Rome that the wages of our sins is death – eternal separation from God. Jesus identifies this place of separation as one of forever wailing and gnashing of teeth. I don’t know about you, but none of that remotely seems appealing to me for even a second let alone an eternity.

In our pick verse today, we wrap up chapter three of James’s letter to the first century believers in Jerusalem and Judah. In this later section of chapter three, James has been focusing on describing how God’s way is the wise way for us to live our lives. We are encouraged to seek God’s wisdom over the so-called wisdom of the world. In today’s verse James teaches that the person who makes peace demonstrates the Christlike attitudes toward others that were described in verse seventeen. This type of life is conducive for growing in righteousness both in ourselves and in other people. In this verse James echo’s Jesus’ teachings on being blessed peacemakers. What might we do today, or this week, that would model being filled with the wisdom of God and then display it through our relationships with others?

Blessings
