Thursday – July 28th – James 4:11-12     -----

4:11)  Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.
12) There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
A PERSON SHOULD GIVE A LOT OF THOUGHT TO A SUDDEN DECISION.*

Good Thursday to you! If you are in the greater St. Louis area, I do hope these last three days of rain have not caused to much damage to your property. Compared to others, SunRise had only minor water damage from a pipe draining back into the lower level. Our inspirational thought for today is a great statement to remember and to put into practice on a daily basis. Admittedly, I too often rush into decisions without giving it proper thought or necessary research. Hence the outcome is not always what I had hoped for or what may be in my best interest. In the future I will be carrying this inspirational thought with me to give me the inspiration to think through my decisions. And to use the Holy Spirit as the guide to God’s wisdom for every decision.

In our pick verses today, James gives us a warning against our judging others. Jesus summarized the heart of the law as love for God and neighbor. Paul said that love demonstrated toward a neighbor would fully satisfy the law. When we fail to love, as described in the actions contained in verse eleven, we are actually breaking God’s law and are guilty of sin. We are to always be on guard and ready to examine the intention of our attitude and our actions toward others. In today’s society it has become increasing easy and even acceptable to criticize someone simply because they see things differently than we do. But when we engage in negative language, we are violating God’s law of love. Instead try saying something positive, which can go a long way to keep us from finding fault and thus increase our ability to obey God’s law of love.

Blessings
