Tuesday – September 6th – 1 Peter 2:6     -----

6) As the Scriptures say, “I am placing a cornerstone in Jerusalem, chosen for great honor, and anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:

THE JUDGMENT OF GOD SHALL TURN TOPSY-TURVY THE JUDGMENTS OF PEOPLE.*
Blessings to you on this wonderful Tuesday! Our inspirational thought for today is like an early morning wake up call that drags us from a deep peaceful sleep. We human beings, with each passing generation, can easily self-ascend ourselves to the pinnacle of all thought, wisdom, and understanding. Each generation firmly believes that they are smarter and more informed than those who have gone before us. Maybe we get lots of practice as teenagers when we become convinced our parents our old and out of touch with reality. Maybe they are to some extent, but their wisdom and experience should never be sold short – possibly because I am past the teenager days and am now treading water in the old people’s pool. Yet, despite our individual intelligence or the accumulative of our collective smarts we fall far short of God’s wisdom. If I had a dollar for every time I disagreed with God and a dollar for every time I was correct in my disagreements, I would collect no dollars whatsoever. This is where trusting in God’s word, God’s way, and God’s will become the rallying cry of all disciples.

In our pick verse today, Peter continues to add to his teaching about our being a living stone within the life of the church. Once again, he reminds his readers that Jesus is the chief cornerstone in God’s perfect creation called the church. The believer’s role is to understand the importance of our connection within the life of the church. Christians will sometimes find themselves facing disappointments in life or even being treated disrespectful for their belief in Jesus, but their trust in God is never misplaced. God will never-ever let any of us down. We can safely put our confidence in Him because the eternal life He promises is certain and unchanging. Old hymns keep coming to mind when I read the Bible – today it is “On Christ The Solid Rock I Stand All Other Ground Is Sinking Sand.

Blessings
