Wednesday – September 7th – 1 Peter 2:7     -----

7) Yes, you who trust him recognize the honor God has given him. But for those who reject him, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.”

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
LOVE IS A FABRIC THAT DOESN’T FADE WHEN WASHED IN THE WATER OF ADVERSITY AND GRIEF.

Happy Wednesday to you! Yes, another mid-week weekday is here for us to enjoy and to serve God. Our inspirational thought for today center’s itself from the writings of the Old Testament prophet Joel who is speaking to the southern kingdom of Judah as a plague of locusts descend upon the nation. Little did the people know that this terrible disaster was a foreshadowing of the woes ahead for them as foreign nations would line up to invade their country. What the people of Judah didn’t realize is that this coming “plague” was caused by their intentional disregard and disobedience of God’s commands. However, when we are intentionally connected to God, we experience His love and protection from all harms. Taking a stand for God is never easy but always pays great dividends. How are you investing this week?

In our pick verse today, Peter continues to focus on the importance of Jesus as the foundation of our faith and the author of our salvation. Undoubtedly, Peter is remembering the conversation Jesus had with him when Peter confessed that Jesus was the Messiah, the son of the living God.  Jesus’ response was that upon this rock, I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. Jesus wasn’t indicating that Peter was the foundation, but Christ himself was the rock of the church. Think about what the scriptures reveal about Jesus, he is completely trustworthy, He is precious to believers, and though rejected by some, He is the most important part of the church. All these things are the foundation of our faith and the strength of the church -the people of God.
