Monday – September 12th – 1 Peter 2:12     -----

12) Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
HATING OTHERS IS LIKE BURNING DOWN YOUR HOUSE TO GET RID OF A RAT.*

Welcome to Monday! We begin another week of witness and service to the Lord and do it in the shadow of our current series “Leap of Faith”. Our inspirational thought today stands as a corrector of attitude for us. We live in a society that feeds off of the hate so easily tossed around by others. When we foster hate in our hearts, we are on a path that leads us away from the heart of God. Take time this week to look past differences and live so that others may see in you the unconditional love of Jesus. Before we become too self-righteous in our reading this thought, remember that Jesus often stated that we are to hate the sin but love the sinner. Who needs to see this Christ-like attitude in you as we begin this new week?

In our pick verse for today Peter’s advice sounds a lot like what he experienced in hanging with Jesus for three years. If our actions are above reproach, even hostile people could end up praising God. Peter’s readers were scattered among unbelieving Gentiles, who were inclined to believe and spread vicious lies about Christians and about God’s truths. Gracious, godly, and pleasant behavior on the part of Christians could show these rumors to be false and might even win them over to a relationship with the Lord. Don’t write off a person simply because they misunderstand Christianity, instead show them Christ living through your life. Again, it comes down to the attitude we have in our hearts, which of course should be the same attitude Jesus displayed while He was on earth.

Blessings
