Wednesday – September 14th – 1 Peter 2:15     -----

15) It is God’s will that your honorable lives should silence those ignorant people who make foolish accusations against you.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
GOD INVITES US TO BURDEN OURSELVES WITH WHAT BURDENS HIM.*

Happy and healthy Wednesday to you. Mid-week is always a great time to take a moment to reflect on what we have accomplished for the Lord in these first few days of the week. Have you seized opportunities to speak on behalf of the Kingdom of Heaven? Have you shared the difference Jesus has made in your life? Can others tell from your actions and your words that you are a fully committed follower of Jesus? Our inspirational thought adds an additional question for us to ponder. Does what break God’s heart also break your heart? One of our upcoming activities at SunRise is our mission trip to Hazzard County, Ky to help provide support and clean-up from the floods experienced in late July. Our team has room for folks who might be feeling the burden God has for hurting people. You can access information and sign-up by going to www.sunrisefamily.org/events and scroll down to click on the Mission Trip graphic. Dates for the trip are Monday October 24 – Saturday October 29.

In our pick verse today, Peter shares the believer’s secret to unleash the power of God into the world. Regardless of the date on the calendar, every generation of believers can be a witness for Jesus through their actions, reactions, through their words and their postings. When we follow the pattern of Jesus we will rise above the rumors, the gossip, and the criticism that is aimed at destroying the Christian witness. As we become examples of God’s unconditional love and as we forgive those who offend us, we take away the sting of those who try to belittle all that Jesus stands for. When we take a stand for God’s word, our actions and our reactions will testify to the foolishness of the devil’s tactics to discredit our witness. I need to remind myself on a daily basis (if not hourly) that we are fully engaged in spiritual warfare and the battleground is very often our own minds. Our best weapon is to keep connected to Jesus through prayer, and to stay connected to God’s word.

Blessings
