Wednesday – September 21st – 1 Peter 2:24     -----

2:24) He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:

THOSE WHO SEE GOD’S HAND IN EVERYTHING CAN BEST LEAVE EVERYTHING IN GOD’S HAND.*

Happy Wednesday! Yes, it is already mid-week – well I guess “already” was a predetermination on my part that your week so far has gone by quickly and has been fruitful. Our inspirational thought today points to how we see the activities and events in our lives. Or for me more specifically the things I cannot control and need to leave for God. One of the things we can control is being intentional in our personal faith development. Our fall spotlight event for today is the upcoming all-church study based on the book – The Revolutionary Disciple. If you are not part of a small group already, I am facilitating a six-week Wednesday evening class that begins at 6:3pm on October 12th. For parents with children in our seeds program on Wednesday this is a great place to hangout and learn about being a revolutionary disciple for Jesus.

In our pick verse for today Peter shares with us the foundational aspect of the Christian faith as a reminder of the price God paid for our salvation invitation. Jesus’ patient endurance on cross was more than a dramatic story we remember in the days leading up to Easter. Jesus paid in full the penalty for our sins in order that we might escape the guilt and power sin holds over us. As a result of Jesus’ unselfish act of love, we have been invited to live a new life of holy righteousness. Included in the invite is the promise of the Holy Spirit who is there to help us clear the obstacles so that we might achieve right standing in God’s kingdom.

Blessings
