Saturday – September 24th – 1 Peter 3:3-4    -----

3:3) Do not adorn yourselves outwardly by braiding your hair, and by wearing gold ornaments or fine clothing;
4) rather, let your adornment be the inner self with the lasting beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God's sight.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
     THE PERSON WHO INSISTS UPON SEEING WITH PERFECT CLARITY BEFORE HE OR SHE DECIDES NEVER DECIDES.*

     Good Saturday to you! In case you have not glanced ahead in your calendar, this is the final weekend of September. Wow what a great inspirational thought for us today as we prepare for our third installment of “Leap of Faith”. My Monday morning men’s group kicked around the idea that many of us can employ procrastination as one way of dealing with our fears. We snicked at the phrase – “paralysis by analysis” - but realized that it can speak volumes of truth about decision making. Everything about Jesus is a complete leap of faith on our part. We base our eternal future on ancient documents, hand-me-down stories, and the personal experiences of previous generation, all of which would be tossed out of court for lack of hard evidence. If you claim a faith in Jesus, you have taken the biggest leap of faith possible on this side of Heaven. With that on your resume you can easily make any decision facing you in this life.

     In our pick verse today, Peter continues sharing wisdom for the wives of non-believing husbands. Peter knows that a changed life speaks loudly and clearly, and it is most often the way to effectively witness to a non-believer. Peter instructs Christian wives to focus on developing an inner beauty rather than being overly obsessed with their outward appearance. Their husbands will possibly be won over by their Christlike love rather than just by their outward appearance. A beautiful heart will express itself in gentle deeds, acts of kindness, and through a quiet spirit of cooperation. Such beauty is incorruptible, not changing with age, and is the kind of beauty that God values.

Blessings
