Wednesday – September 28th – 1 Peter 3:9 -----
3:9) Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called—that you might inherit a blessing.

TO DO NOTHING IS TIRESOME BECAUSE YOU CANNOT STOP AND TAKE A REST.*
Happy Wednesday to you! As is our tradition it is time to take a quick mid-week check on your discipleship growth and inventory how you have represented the Kingdom of Heaven this week both in service and in witness. Also, to be excited that we have two more days left in this week to add to today’s totals. Our inspirational thought today speaks well into our mid-week update. Doing nothing can be a tiresome job, standing back and watching others toil away can be exhausting. I am not the kind of person who can easily just sit around in pause mode. Even when my body is not active, my mind is running laps around the inside of my skull. Kingdom work requires action to be fruitful. Actionless people bear little if any fruit for the kingdom. I pray you find yourself this week on the tipping the scale away from the doing nothing end.
In our pick verse today, Peter begins by giving us a list of things that are far from representing the mind or attitude of Jesus. He then provides instructions on how we are to respond in difficult situations. Only when we intentionally return good for evil do we receive the blessings that God wants to give us. The more we bless others the wider our receptacle is open to receive from God. Conversely, if we are focused on getting even for an evil or abuse than we close ourselves off from what God can do with us. James 1:2 states that we are to consider it an opportunity for joy when we are faced with trials, challenges, or struggles. I know I need to work on that little detail of the Christian’s walk the rest of the week.
