Friday – September 30th – 1 Peter 3:12     -----

3:12) For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
MALACHI’S PROPHECY, LIKE A MORNING DAWN, BRINGS WITH IT THE PROMISE OF A NEW AND MORE GLORIOUS DAY.*

We started the week with Hello Monday and now we finish the week with Hello Friday. The end of the week is also the end of our reading the Old Testament in our Bible in a year program. Nine months of exciting adventures, beautiful words of encouragement, and wake-you-up prophecies all point to the coming of Jesus as God’s greatest gift to humanity. Tomorrow also begins a new month and with it a day full of activities at SunRise. Our October installment of Cars-n-Coffee will be in the McClure parking lot from 8am – 10am, depending on November weather this traditionally is the last CnC until April. On Saturday afternoon the SunRise worship tech team will be busy on the soccer field running checks for our outdoor worship on Sunday at 9:45am. It is not to late to join those being baptized as part of our commitment series finale. God always has room for one more in the Kingdom of Heaven.

In our pick verse today, Paul closes out this current section on healthy Christian relationships among the body of believers. If there ever is a question as to why it is important to have a relationship with Jesus, other than the whole eternal life thing, Peter explains it clearly in this verse. When we follow God’s will, God’s word, and God’s way we have both God’s eyes upon us and God’s ears listening to our prayers. In other words (borrowing from Romans 8) we have the power of Heaven on our side where nothing in all creation can stand against us. However, Peter also states that if our hearts, minds, and/or actions are inclined to evil, then the eyes and ears of God are turned away from us. Actually, God’s view never moves, but when we rebel/sin/do our own thing we have intentionally removed ourselves from directly facing God. Until we repent and return, we remain on the outside of God’s abundant and limitless blessings. Why would anyone intentionally choose to be there is beyond me?

Blessings
