Tuesday – October 11th – 1 Peter 4:6 -----
4:6) That is why the Good News was preached to those who are now dead —so although they were destined to die like all people, they now live forever with God in the Spirit.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today.
NO TRIAL TROUBLES THE CHILD OF GOD WHO KNOWS GOD HAS A REASON FOR ALLOWING IT.*
Happy Tuesday to you! Our inspirational thought for today is one of those ouch type statements. Ones we know to be true, but sometimes difficult to put ourselves into the mindset to understand. Every one of us will face multiple trials in our lives. Some folks may have huge, gigantic, mountain size trial while others may have what seem like speed bumps on life’s highway. Something important to remember is that observational perspective can be deceptive. What I may observe in your life that seems to be humongous may in fact be just a blip on our trials radar. Of course, the opposite is also true – what may disrupt your sense of well-being could seem trivial from my perspective. The best advice is that we need to focus on our section of the wall and be supportive of what others are going through in their life. With all that said the heart of the inspirational thought is that as followers of Jesus we lean into the understanding that we can eventually see blessings within in every aspect of our life, from both trials and victories.
In our pick verse today Peter shares with his readers the importance of having the security of a relationship with Jesus in this life and the blessings it provides when we die. Even in the early church there were believers who died while waiting for the return of Jesus. Questions arose as to the fate of deceased believers. Peter’s response is that people who received the gospel during their lifetime but have died will be in the same judgement as all people will be, but because of they believed in Jesus, God will give them eternal life. This same first century message is true for us twenty-fist century believers, just as it will be for all future believers in Christ.
Blessings
