Thursday – October 20th – 1 Peter 4:19     -----

4:19) So if you are suffering in a manner that pleases God, keep on doing what is right, and trust your lives to the God who created you, for he will never fail you.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
YOU CAN GIVE WITHOUT LOVING, BUT YOU CANNOT LOVE WITHOUT GIVING.*

Happy Thursday to you! The weekend is fast approaching I wanted to make another announcement concerning our Family Ministry’s Trunk or Treat celebration this Saturday from 11am – 1pm in the McClure Parking lot. We would love more trunks, more donated candy, and of course more families to join us. You can access sign-ups to volunteer or to participate by going to www.sunrisefamily.org/events on the webpage or the event section on the SunRise App. If you are on the lot stop by and visit me and Bob as we hand out candy from my trunk.

In our pick verse today, Peter wraps up the fourth chapter in his first epistle to the earliest generations of Christians suffering within the Roman Empire. Peter’s focus has been on the unavoidable suffering of those who have taken a stand for Jesus. Those who suffer for being Christian should place their complete trust in God, just as Jesus did when He prayed, “not what I will, but what you will”. Faith-filled followers of Jesus will show their confidence in God’s plan by doing good even when suffering is a part of the equation. God is a faithful God, who is always absolutely trustworthy to fulfil all of His promises.

Blessings
  Pastor Jim
