Tuesday – November 1st – 1 Peter 5:6 -----
5:6) So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WITHOUT GOD, WE ARE NOTHING.*
Hello to Tuesday. What a great inspirational thought to start off a new month! Since the beginning of time humanity has tried, and tried, and tried again to live without accepting the existence of God. Sometimes we humans are tempted to flat out reject God while other times Satan’s tactic is to let little bits or lesser gods take up space in our thought process. Even when we use terms like “the man upstairs” or “I believe in a high power” we fall into the devil’s trap of taking away from the power, majesty, and glory of the God of creation. When we limit the unlimitedness of God then we, as our inspirational thought states, are nothing. God has created each of us to be His “something” and has a unique calling on our lives. That is why Satan works overtime to distract us from being God’s something special.
In our pick verse today, Peter continues to give instructions for the proper attitude for a believer to model to others who are beginning their journey as a follower of Jesus. The culture– regardless of the century or geographical location - in which we live encourages an attitude the includes worrying about position, status, and recognition for what we do. In this verse Peter advises believers to remember that God’s recognition counts more than human praise. God is able and willing to bless us according to Heaven’s economy and not the earths. We are to humbly obey God regardless of our present circumstance, and in God’s “when” – either in this life or the life to come – He will honor your labors for the Kingdom of Heaven.
Blessings
