Thursday – November 3rd – 1 Peter 5:8     -----

5:8) Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
TO KNOW GOD IS TO KNOW THAT HE SHOULD BE OBEYED.*

Good Thursday to you! I am excited to say that there are only a few spots left to sign up for Serve Saturday this weekend. Check out where you might be able to find a place to serve. One area that is still a top choice for many folks is to help in covering the $10 cost of shipping each of the operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes that are being assembled on Saturday. You can donate online through either the SunRise Church App or the SunRise website. At either location follow the links to “give” and then select “missions” under the “fund” tab and then chose “Christmas Shoebox” under the “sub-fund” tab. What a great way to start off the Christmas season.

In our pick verse for today Peter gives his sternest warning to believers about the dangers of allowing Satan to come near to us. We are to lean into the power of the Holy Spirit to help us resist every temptation that causes us to compromise our faith when we find ourselves suffering as we serve Jesus. Make no mistake about either the reality of the devil and spiritual warfare, or about the devil’s intentions. No matter how attractive his temptation or how he tries to deceive us into justifying our actions that ultimately go against God, his purpose is to devour a person spiritually, emotionally, and physically. The evil one will tempt us with thoughts of doubt and discouragement when we are faced with challenges we believe are beyond our own abilities to handle. The devil is a master at deception and only has one goal and that is to fracture our relationship with God

Blessings
