The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
TRUE GREATNESS IS TO SERVE UNNOTICED AND TO WORK UNSEEN.*

Good Monday to you!! Another new week for us to embrace as a revolutionary disciple for the Kingdom of Heaven. And what a perfect inspirational thought to accompany us into this week’s journey. By embracing the wisdom of this thought we can  fully live into the humility that is required of being a follower of Jesus. Yesterday at SunRise we spoke of the reality of spiritual warfare and how Satan does everything he can to distract us from being 100% connected to God. One of his more subtle tactics is to tempt us with congratulating ourselves for doing good things. While good things can make a difference in other people’s lives, our grabbing the spotlight will over the course of time take away from our commitment to serve out of unconditional love. When the applause disappears our commitment to serve diminishes. If we serve out of humility and love for God, then doing it behind the scenes and going unnoticed is where and how we can serve best.

In our pick verses for today Peter continues his listing of the internal qualities of a fully committed disciple. Peter knew that the greatest struggles for Christians do not come from external forces but from the internal spiritual battles that we wrestle with in our faith journey. Peter reminds us that we must cling to self-control in the face of every kind of temptation and embrace perseverance amid the many difficulties in life. Doing both will help us live a life that is pleasing and acceptable to God. Those who please God will show kindness through their practical concern for their fellow Christians. Fully committed followers will demonstrate love by being interested in the full (spiritual, emotional, and physical) well-being of all people. It goes without saying that we can only accomplish God level self-control and perseverance by allowing the Holy Spirit full access to our lives. When we submit to God’s authority, we become revolutionary disciples for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Blessings
