Friday – December 2nd – 2 Peter 2:20     -----
2:20) And when people escape from the wickedness of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up and enslaved by sin again, they are worse off than before.
The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
A warm welcome to Friday! What great plans do you have for this first weekend in December? There always seems like December Saturdays have lots of Christmas type options – decorations, shopping, gatherings, or enjoying a nice cozy fireplace. Maybe in the midst of your fun activities you can take a moment to let today’s inspirational thought work its way onto your schedule. I love the idea that the more we pray the more we will be both convinced and experience the power of prayer. Remember prayer is defined as simply being in conversation with God. No fancy phrase or big theological words required – just small talk between two friends. Enjoy chatting it up with the creator of all that exists, how is that for name dropping.

In our pick verse for today, Peter shifts his attention from the false prophets to now focus on those who listen and believe this spiritual garbage. A person who becomes a Christian and is then drawn back into a life of sin is worse off than before their conversion. It is far worse for them, because a greater connection with God brings greater responsibilities to the believer. The evil one draws a big bullseye on every believer in hopes to destroy their relationship with God. While God has all the power necessary to stop the devil’s attacks before they begin, He will wait until we request His help to resist temptation. If we choose not to cry out for God’s help we will quickly fall into downward spiral of sin. The scriptures remind us that, when aided by the power of the Holy Spirit, we can resist the devil, and as a result the devil will flee from us. Take a stand today and resist every tactic of the devil.
