Tuesday – December 6th – 2 Peter 3:5-7     ------

3:5) They deliberately forget that God made the heavens long ago by the word of his command, and he brought the earth out from the water and surrounded it with water.
6)Then he used the water to destroy the ancient world with a mighty flood. 7) And by the same word, the present heavens and earth have been stored up for fire. They are being kept for the day of judgment, when ungodly people will be destroyed.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
TO KEEP THE FAITH, WE MUST LEARN TO LIVE THE FAITH.*

Good Tuesday to you! This week marks the beginning of a calendar of activities that help pave our journey to Christmas Eve at SunRise. Daily, the worship space is filled with the sounds of the SunRise Pre-school kids diligently practicing for their Christmas programs next Wednesday and Thursday. This year, as we celebrate the season of Advent through the eyes of a child, their sparkling eyes, enthusiastic voices, and colorful outfits help me to focus on being more childlike in my attitude, my faith, and my perspective. There is nothing like kids and Christmas.

In our pick verses today, Peter continues addressing the arguments of the false teachers of his day. Beginning with the creation story, Peter moves his readers through the major points of the Old Testament history to prove that things have been in constant flux. The God who created the world oversees all its events. He once judged the sinful world with a flood. This same God continues to sustain our world and will again bring it to a day of final judgment. When that last days comes all humanity will give an account of their actions before the judgement seat of God. For those who are believers, Jesus will stand as our representative, and we will receive a well done good and faithful servant from God.

Blessings
  Pastor Jim
