Thursday – December 15th – 1 John 1:3     -----

1:3) that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
MORE CAN BE LEARNED FROM LIFE’S TRIALS THAN FROM ITS TRIUMPHS.*

Good Thursday to you! Today here at SunRise is the encore presentation of the pre-school Christmas Program 2022 edition. Fear not, if you couldn’t make either of the performances the kids will be signing up a storm at the 9:45 am worship service on Sunday. If you want to view the whole program, check out the “SunRise Church O’Fallon” YouTube page then click on the “video” link and then the “popular” link. Amazingly last year’s pre-school program has had 2,000 plus views – over 12 times more views than any of my best sermons. Oh, and while you are on the SunRise YouTube page click on “subscribe” so you can get notified of all our new content as it is made available.

In our pick verse today, John continues to establish his credibility as witness for Jesus. As a firsthand, up close, and personal eyewitness to Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, John was more than qualified to teach the truth about Jesus. The readers of this letter had not seen or heard Jesus themselves, but because of John’s personal experiences they could fully trust what he wrote was accurate. For believers today we are even further removed from those first century believers and those, like John, who knew Jesus personally.  Though we have not personally seen, heard, or touched Jesus, we do have the New Testament record of His eyewitnesses, and we can trust that they spoke the truth about Him. While generations have come and gone the message of the Gospels are forever unchanging.

Blessings
  Pastor Jim
