Happy Monday to you! Today is not only the beginning of a new week but also signals the start of the last half of January. Yes, my friends we have 50% of the first month of 2023 already behind us. Have you stayed on track with your resolutions and your goals? Today can be an excellent day to restart what you hope to accomplish this year. Don’t worry we will continue to check-in and hold each other accountable throughout this year. If you need a little more inspiration, then our inspirational thought is a timely reminder that with God all things, within His will, are possible. We should never doubt the power and promise that flows from the one who created all that exists.
In our pick verse for today, John dives deep into his teaching on the importance of loving as God loves. This one little, short verse has a powerful impact on our ability to preserve when living as a follower of Jesus becomes challenging. From the first murder in the Bible, we have seen that those who desire to follow God will be opposed by those who perceive the have no need for God in their lives. It is a historical fact that the sinful world persecutes Christians because it envies them, not realizing that the same things that inflames their jealousy can be theirs if they would turn their hearts to God. We should never be surprised that the unbelieving world will never want to accept us and will find ways to make our lives difficult. Remember their actions are a direct result of the devil trying to disrupt our relationship with God.
