4:14) And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
15) Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
16) And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.

Happy Thursday to you. I missed the opportunity yesterday to celebrate the beginning of the second month of 2023 – so welcome to February. It also means today is the weird celebration of groundhog day and the prediction of how much more winter we will have. I wonder how much folks in Hawaii and other tropical climates cling to the forecasting of a groundhog looking for his shadow in Pennsylvania? Another great event to celebrate is the SunRise Preschool Book fair that concludes its run today and through 2pm tomorrow. Can’t make it to the SunRise building by then, no worry, you can order books online while helping our SunRise Preschool with funds for new supplies. Order information can be found on either the SunRise webpage or SunRise app under the “events” page. Thanks for supporting our kids and our preschool.
In our pick verses today, John warps up this short section on our abiding in the power and presence of God. As followers of Jesus, we are gifted a variety of blessings from God, but none any greater than knowing our place is secure in heaven for all eternity. We have the assurance of forever abiding in God’s presence as it was received by the first believers through the witness of the apostles. Their firsthand experience of the salvation work of Jesus has been passed down from generation to generation for all who chose to believe and receive God’s gift of salvation. Today, we continue this long-standing tradition as we demonstrate our complete and full identification in and through Jesus by confessing that His is truly the Son of God, our savior, and by living in love with one and another.
