The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
WHITEWASHING THE PUMP WILL NOT PURIFY THE WATER.*

Hello Tuesday. Two big things are happening today. And depending on your priorities, you are either excited about today being Valentine’s Day and/or the day Cardinals pitchers and catchers report for spring training. Which every you choose to celebrate today – have an awesome day. Our inspirational thought for today is a great reminder that God sees what is on the inside of us, regardless of what we parade around on the outside of us. God knows the heart and soul of each individual person and responds with blessings accordingly. We are graded out not on our achievements, our human accolades, or our worldly possessions, but on how we are connected to the one who created us and blew into us the breath of life. When our attitude is God centered, than our actions will follow along. Other people may not be able to see what motives us, but God can see all things. This week let us concentrate more on what God thinks than what others think about us.

In our pick verses today, John continues to drill deeper into building blocks of our abiding life in Christ. The truth affirmed in verse 6-10 is now summarized in today’s two verses. Eternal life is God’s gift to us through the death of His Son. Because Jesus has done all the heavy lifting for our salvation, we have this future life only through commitment to belong to Him. If we make the decision to turn our backs on Him, we ultimately are refusing the life Jesus gives to us. In part John is address some portions of the false teaching that these early believers faced in that Jesus was merely a good teacher, but not God in the flesh or possessed the power to cover the sins of humanity. Such heresies gained tractions as early believers were teased with the thought that if Jesus was truly the way to eternal life than those who followed would never have any challenges or struggles. Some of the most devoted Christians I know have learned that struggles are unavoidable, and that God is greater than any or all of life’s struggles.

Blessings
