Friday – March 10th – 3 John 1:11

1:11) Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
NO ONE CAN BE CALLED MATURE WHO DOES NOT LEARN FROM HIS OWN MISTAKES.*

Hello Friday! This is more of a reminder for me than for any of the readers of this blog, but please don’t forget to set you clocks up one hour tomorrow evening when you go to bed. Yes, this is the time of year where most of the country has the opportunity to “spring-forward”. The past few mornings, I have already been lamenting as I look out from my breakfast table to see the first rays of sunshine shortly after 6am, and then realize that next week that same view will be pushed to 7am. I know, I know that the opposite effect will happen at the end of the day when it stays lighter for longer. But, I am more of a morning person who wants to get outside early and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation new and fresh each day. Oh, well by May the sun will be welcoming us in the 5 o’clock hour and I will be outside enjoying it. Thank you, God, for creating such a beauty world for us to enjoy!

In our pick verse today, John gives a stern warning to all believers that we are not to imitate the evil conduct of Diotrephes. Such a person has not experienced the true light of God in their life. Whatever was Diotrephes past experience with the Lord, he was now not serving God with the same heart or conviction. We need to be guarded in whom we look to as our role model for our Christian walk. We need to look past  a person’s “personality” and instead factor in the “fruit” of their labors. Imitation is considered the greatest form of flattery. May we each be certain that we are imitating God’s righteousness and not Satan’s evil.

Blessings
