Sunday – March 12th – 3 John 1:13-14     -----

1)13 I had many things to write, but I do not wish to write to you with pen and ink;
14) but I hope to see you shortly, and we shall speak face to face. Peace to you. Our friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
      THOSE WHO BELIEVE THAT PEOPLE AREN’T SO BAD MUST NEVER HAVE BEEN PARENTS.*

     Holy Sunday to you! Yes, it is Sunday and a great day to enjoy the opportunity for a sabbath. In this Christian discipline we are to focus our attention away from normal activities and seek ways we can be closer to God in all that we think and do. Of course, that is what the season of Lent is all about as well – finding things to eliminate from our routines that get in the way of growing deeper in our relationship with God. Today also signals our halfway point through Lent. Easter is coming! Spend some time today reflecting on your walk with God and then take steps to be a more fully committed follower of Jesus.

     In our pick verses today, John closed out his third and final epistle. In his closing remarks John lets them know that he plans to see them face to face, with the purpose of finishing to dealing with the problems caused by Diotrephes. In what had become a typical closing fashion, John blesses them with the Christian words “peace to you”, as a sign of having what can only come from God. John requests Gaius to greet those within the church by name, which indicates John knew the church members personally. One of the most important things we can do as a gathered group of believers is to take the extra time to create community by getting to know each other. Who might you meet this week that will help grow the sense of community at SunRise.

Blessings
