Monday – March 13th – Intro to Jude     -----

The Daily Walk Bible inspirational thought for today:
THE WORLD CROWNS SUCCESS, BUT GOD CROWNS FAITHFULNESS.*

Welcome to Monday! Our inspirational thought today fits nicely as we begin a new week of life and ministry. As we approach each decision and as we address what is important for our day may we keep our eyes focused on the prize of faithfulness. Yes, the world likes to applaud, recognize, and reward success through the lens of human measurements. And as human beings we can easily find ourselves at a fork in the road that will cause us to choose between worldly standards and faithfulness to God. Once again I am taken back to the statement of Joshua – as for me and my house I will serve the Lord. May we hold each other in prayer today, and this week, that our choices will be faithful to God’s call on our life.

Today we step into the second to last book of the Bible – the book of Jude. This short epistle was written by a disciple named Jude who was the half-brother of Jesus. The dating for this letter is best set around 65AD, or 32 years after the resurrection of Jesus. The Daily Walk Bible introduction for this book shares that “Jude writes a fiery letter about the war the church must fight against destroyers in its own ranks. These corrupt teachers have a perverted view of God’s grace and liberty, using salvation as an opportunity to sin without repercussions. Because they prefer their own ideas to God’s truth, their beliefs result in shocking immorality. Jude reminds his readers of God’s severe judgment on such ungodly people. He tells true believers to do two things: keep themselves from such sin and rescue others stumbling toward it.”**
